Sub tuum praesidium

From a hymn written in Greek, scribed on papyrus in 250 AD, and found in Egypt.  And still appropriately being recited now, 2000 years later.

Beneath your compassion,
We take refuge, O Mother of God:
do not despise our petitions in time of trouble:
but rescue us from dangers,
only pure, only blessed one.
